Electrician
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation & Wiring: Layout and install electrical conduit piping, cable trays, trunking, and raceways according to approved shop drawings. Pull wires and cables through conduits and connect them to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, and lighting fixtures. Assemble, install, and connect Main Distribution Boards (MDBs), Sub-Main Distribution Boards (SMDBs), and final Distribution Boards (DBs). Install switches, sockets, indoor/outdoor lighting systems, and emergency backup power layouts.
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components using testing equipment like multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers (Megger). Replace faulty wiring, circuit breakers, fuses, switches, and relays to prevent system downtime. Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems, commercial machinery, and site DB panels. 3. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all electrical works comply with safety standards and project specifications. Strictly follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before performing maintenance or repair work to eliminate electrical hazards. Properly implement grounding (earthing) systems for equipment and structural frameworks to protect against electrical surges.
Required Technical Skills & Tools: Ability to read and accurately interpret electrical schematic diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLD), and layout drawings.Tools: Mastery of hand and power tools specific to the trade (conduit benders, wire strippers, crimping tools, cable cutters, and drilling machines).System Knowledge: Deep understanding of single-phase and three-phase electrical distributions.
Qualifications & Experience Education: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) Certificate in the Electrician Trade (typically a 2-year vocational course).
Experience: Usually requires 2 to 5+ years of hands-on experience on construction sites, commercial fit-outs, or industrial maintenance projects.
Civil Draftsman
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Drawing & Drafting
Prepare detailed blueprints, site plans, structural layouts, and cross-section drawings for infrastructure projects (e.g., buildings, roads, drainage networks, and bridges).
Draft Shop Drawings (detailed installation drawings for site teams) and As-Built Drawings (final drawings showing the project exactly as constructed).
Develop layout plans for earthworks, grading, utility routing (water, sewage, electricity), and stormwater management systems.
2. Design Collaboration & Review
Work closely with Civil Engineers, Project Managers, and Architects to interpret rough design notes, survey data, and structural calculations.
Review completed drafts to ensure accuracy, structural integrity, and consistency across architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) designs.
Resolve design conflicts or discrepancies before drawings are issued to the construction site.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Standard Maintenance
Ensure all civil drawings conform to company standards and local regulatory frameworks (guidelines in Qatar).
Organize, update, and maintain a secure digital archive of all drawing revisions, master plans, and project document logs.
Required Skills & Software Expertise:
To work efficiently, a Civil Draftsman must be highly proficient in modern industry software:
Core CAD Software: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting is mandatory; 3D modeling is a massive advantage).
BIM Modeling: Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (Structure) for Building Information Modeling (BIM) projects.
Civil Infrastructure Tools: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for grading, highway designs, corridors, and land surveying integrations.
Technical Literacy: Ability to accurately read, interpret, and scale engineering blueprints, topographical maps, and architectural designs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: A Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural Drafting, or a certified ITI/technical certification in CAD/Drafting.
Experience: Typically requires 2 to 5+ years of drafting experience within a contracting, engineering consultancy, or infrastructure construction firm.
Local Knowledge: For positions in the Gulf region, familiarity with local municipality submission systems and construction standards (like QCS) is highly preferred by employers.
